Nestled away from all the traffic and people and has been renovated...Very, very nice. Easy to get in and out.... Also, we like the Comfort Inn on the River. You can't beat the tenderness and OMG it was absolutely delicious. Always a staple in our trip to Tennessee. I have to say that I am VERY glad that you don't have Howard Johnson's hotel in Gatlinburg on your list. It was awful. Cleanliness - okay. The beds were HARD. We booked it, not knowing, for 2 nights and left after the first night. They have a nice fireplace (real fireplace) where you have to get your own wood from their periodic stockpiles around the outside of the rooms. Would have been nicer if we had matches or a lighter. Went to the front desk and she said she would give us one of her own 4 personal lighters........we had to go to a liquor store a bit away in our search to finally get a lighter. Not returning there. Love Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and we go there every year around Thanksgiving. Unbelievably nice people and really beautiful surroundings.
